Legal Counsel at SmartWatt Energy Rocklin, CA

The role will serve an integral role in a small but dynamic US legal team.
Centrica Business Solutions is looking for an experienced in-house counsel that can hit the ground running and be able to oversee a wide variety of legal matters in support of a fast-growing business.
Our Legal Counsel contributions to the team include:
Managing active litigation matters.
Advising on day-to-day employee and labor issues that arise in a changing business environment.
Providing corporate governance support and oversite for our US corporate affiliates.
Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.
Providing legal support for the company's real estate needs.
Providing other general legal support as issues arise.
The core components of success are (i.

must haves):
JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Licensed to practice in at least one US State.

years legal experience representing corporate clients in a business context.
Proven record of successfully working in a fast-paced in-house or law firm environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly to assist a non-legal audience in understanding complex legal and regulatory requirements.
Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
Clear understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies.
Highly motivated individual with direct, action-oriented approach to achieving legal and business objectives.

Experience with M&A transactions or other complex commercial arrangements such as Joint Ventures or Partnerships.
Tax law expertise.
Labor union experience.
