Dynamic Environmental Consulting Firm providing a wide range of environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, and regulatory compliance services; actively seeks 5 to 8 year experienced Senior Biologist to join our biological resources team in our Rocklin, CA office.

Our firm helps public- and private-sector clients address difficult environmental and planning issues with our well qualified professional staff. Our experienced biologists, environmental specialists, planners, public meeting facilitators, water resources specialists, landscape architects, GIS specialists, and graphic designers provide the expertise in research, planning, and project execution to consistently exceed our clients' expectations. Our technology services include aerial imagery, remote sensing and data interpretation, GIS application and database development, cartography, web site development, graphic design, publication graphics, illustration, interpretive signage, Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D modeling, and visual simulation. This variety of complementary skills and services allows us to meet the unique needs of any project.

Senior Biologist Experience Needed and Overall Role:

Seeking a Senior Biologist with 5-8 years of experience to join the biological resources team in our Rocklin, CA office. The successful candidate will possess expertise with western flora and fauna with emphasis on northern California species. Possession of a Scientific Collecting Permit and significant experience with California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, giant garter snake, and vernal pool invertebrates is highly desired. ISA Arborist Certification or Professional Forester Registration is highly desired, but not required. Successful candidates will be highly skilled with environmental regulations including NEPA, CEQA, and ESA, experience with federal and state protected species, and discretionary permitting through ACOE, CDFG and USFWS. Successful candidates must be able to lead resource level investigations and prepare technical sections of environmental documents, mentor staff, manage projects and marketing efforts, and operate in an environment of tight schedules and limited budgets. Periodic travel and field work will be required.
The ideal Biologist will have a biology background combined with a strong regulatory background. Our firm mostly does Section 404, Section 401, Section 7, 1600 Streambed Alteration Agreements, Biological Resource Assessments and Wetland Delineations. A Biologist who can blend the two skills sets and help grow our company's Biology and Regulatory Departments would be a perfect addition.
