DescriptionThe Senior Applications Systems Engineer leads the successful implementation and support of applications,proactively identifying and troubleshooting performance issues and functionality gaps.

Job DutiesImplement, perform maintenance activities and support complex applications to optimize system performance and functionalityHandle and resolve escalated user issues, troubleshoot applications in collaboration with support groups and assist in performing root cause analysis to identify solutions Administer testing and security controls based on infrastructure and application requirements, technical specifications and/or change control requestsEstablish, monitor and analyze IT metrics and use data to recommend and implement process improvementsLead in the design, development, review and maintenance of clear and easily understood application and process documentation consistent with department standardsAs required, respond to after-hours escalated issues within SLAsAct as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and mentorship to peer Systems EngineersEssential SkillsMinimum 5 years experience in IT administration; support of on-premise and/or cloud-based services and applications Advanced experience in managing and troubleshooting financial services applications and batch servicesProficiency in cloud technologies (including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS)Strong knowledge in web-based and/or middleware applications Proficiency with ITIL and release management concepts is preferredAbility to perform root cause analysis and network performance tuning Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlinesAbility to effectively collaborate with multiple business units, leadership and vendors to achieve organizational goalsStrong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences Strong technical, quantitative and analytical problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action plans Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersProficiency with RDMS - MS SQL / Oracle Familiarity with SCRUM as a development method for Agile Working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum Education:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related fields is preferred or equivalent work experienceCertification/License:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
