To add to our team we are currently hiring a an Estimator in our Roofing division.
Job Responsibilities Estimating:
Analyze requirements, reports, and plans to develop accurate and complete job quantity take-offs.
Identify project labor, material, and time requirements.
Gathers subcontractor and vendor pricing.
Conducts scope review and documents discrepancies, prepares RFI's.
Determine factors of production that will influence the overall cost of the estimate.
Able to meet competing deadlines.
Document Management:
Organize and manage all aspects of bid documentation including RFPs, Specifications, Plan Sets, Submittals, Proposals, Project notes and Correspondence.
Customer Relations:
Builds relationships with GCs and Builders to expand customer base.
Follows up on submitted bids and price changes in effort to grow revenue.
Responds to customers in a timely manner.
Provides excellent customer service.
Project Turnover:
Prepares internal documents for turnover, closes open bid items, and prepares take-off for field.
Interacts with Builders and GCs to ensure that the correct documentation for Project turnover has been obtained.
Effectively communicates accurate information to team.
Process Improvements:
Reviews current processes and provides ideas, support and feedback to assist with efficiency and cost savings.
Skills and Abilities Detail oriented - diligence is critical for managing the many distinct aspects of a project.
Problem solving - excellent analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Communication - strong verbal and written communication skills.
Planning/Organizing - ability to work independently, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, prioritizes, and plans work assignments, organized, and uses time efficiently to meet deadlines.
Adaptability - adapts to changes in work environment, and can deal with change, delays, or unexpected events.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary.
Dependability - is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to managements direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Tactful and has professional demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, customers, and others.
Ability to identify and meet customers' expectations and requirements.
Must be an initiative-taker, self -motivated, able to suggest and identify process improvements.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
Individuals in this role use technical knowledge and related experience to accomplish project objectives by planning, evaluating, and managing execution of project activities.
The role requires a high level of communication and reporting of project status to management as well as other project team members.
Qualifications 5
years relevant work experience, office setting preferred.
Software knowledge required.
Advanced Excel experience including ability to write formulas, trouble shoot errors and improve processes through automation Experience in Autodesk Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel) Ability to draft reports and professional correspondence to vendors and clients.
Familiarity with job costing, online collaboration, scheduling and estimating.
Knowledge of construction terminology, ability to read plans and specifications.
Experience in Home Building.
